I woke up today at 8 AM because my sister's kids here at my childhood home were screaming like hell. I looked outside with my sleepy eyes and decided to immediately put on some clothes and rubberboots. The fog was thick and I was in a hurry, sun was about to crawl out from the clouds! I walked outside to the fields, I could see properly about 20 meters. I shot some images, you have to know I don't normally do this kind of pictures.. but the conditions made everything look really calm and mysterious, even scary. If it's like that tomorrow or any other day while I'm here, I'll ask my parents out for a portrait.
However today's picture is one of my VERY few succesful slides I've ever shot. I mean the exposure is about right, the picture ain't that good. This is from couple of years back. Click to view bigger.

Oldies, really. 15 Aug 2007 Posted by Jussi.
I was running out of fresh images to post, so I resorted to going through some oldies. I found a folder of scans of prints from my first darkroom class. The year was 2004 and I had shot the first ever roll on a SLR camera, I remember not knowing how to release the film and tearing the film end apart when rewinding it too hard. The print is bad and seems like I had the negative upside down in the scanner, it's not supposed to look like that.. And this is the first time I notice this, almost 4 years later. Hah. Suomeksi: Alkoi käydä tuoreet fotot vähiin, mutta löysin koneelta kansion jossa oli 2004 vuonna kuvattuja kuvia. Skannit on pimiövedoksista, tämä taisi olla ensimmäinen järjestelmällä kuvattu rulla, tai no kuvat ikinä. Erittäin mielenkiintoista katsoa tuollaisia kuvia. Printti on melko huono, en ole edes paperia osannut laittaa oikein ja negakin on vissiin ollut nurin. hah. Noh noin sitä oppii, tai pitäisi oppia. Klikkaa kuvaa suurentaaksesi.

Yesterday I came to a conclusion that this website isn't really the best way to present my portfolio of photographic work. So I have created a small portfolio site to use in the right places. Please check it out. It has 51 pictures so I guess I don't need to post you a picture today? Hell.. I'll do it anyway.

My internet has been busted for about 2 weeks now. Those useless people who replaced some stuff in our house during a "maintanence break" managed (again) to fuck something up. No biggie, but I can't upload pictures to my blog, I have to do that through FTP and personally it's getting at me. How hard is it to do your job properly? Every single time these dipshits "repair" something it's broken for atleast a week? Ok sorry about the rant, today I have a older picture of Marjukka for you. I think it was shot two years ago..

Katkoksen aikana olin etelassa reissussa ja takaisin tullessa mikaan uploadhomma tai sahkopostien liitteet eivat toimi. Muilla yhteyksilla kaikki toimii moitteetta. Sahkoposti-ilmoitus ja puhelu eivat ole auttaneet. Tata se on kesalla opiskelija-asuntolassa.
Paivan kuvana marjukkakuva parin vuoden vai yhden vuoden takaa, no vanha kuva kuitenkin.
Ja saatana skandit taas rikki blogissa, kylla nyt vastustaa.

This guy has been playing on the streets of Rovaniemi the whole summer, and he can't really play at all. There is no melody, nothing. But it's all good, I gave him some coins and took this picture. He didn't understand when I tried to ask him stuff, he kept on smiling, as did I.

Suomeksi: Tämä kaveri on soittanut haitariaan Rovaniemellä koko kesän, tai no, ei hän oikeasti osaa soittaa yhtään. Ehkä hän vain soveltaa ja säveltää jotain omaa. Annoin miekkoselle hattuun pari kolikkoa ja otin kuvan, jutustelusta ei tullut mitään kun hän ei ymmärtänyt englantia, mutta hymyllä selvittiin.

I don't remember the name for this mountain we climbed but it was beautiful, and we saw a fire from a distance. I wanted to see squirrels but we saw none, bummer.

Suomeksi: Heinolassa oli komeita paikkoja, muun muassa ilmeisesti euroopan suurin poppelipuu. Aikamoista. En muista tämän paikan nimeä, mutta sinne piti kiikkua jonkin aikaa, mutta näkymät palkitsivat, korjaan palakittivat.

I was going through some scans and this frame came up. There is absolutely almost everything wrong in this picture, even if you don't photograph by the well-known guidelines of how photographs should look. By all means, click to enlarge and see for yourself.

First of all you don't go and put devil horns (pipes) on a respectable older man, neither should you have a pipe growing out of a head of this younger gentleman. Also it's not good to have a line dripping out of a nose. And a human being having his hands doing something iffy around the genital area is also a thing to be careful with, of course that depends of which genre you're working with..
Suomeksi: Ensinnäkin on huono idea pistää miekkoselle piippu kasvamaan päästä, mutta vielä huonompi tilanne on jos niitä on kaksi, kukaan ei pidä pirunsarvista. Myöskään nenästä valuva viiva ei ole tavoiteltujen ominaisuuksien listalla. Kädet munissa ovat myös (genrestä riippuen) asia jonka kanssa tulisi olla varovainen. Ei näin!
