About time to go snowboarding again. Woohoo! This is a picture I had forgotten. We took it last winter during Pyhä deepsnow photoshoot contest. The light was amazing and lohipizza was not. Believe me, do not eat lohipizza if you are very drunk. It will pop out the wrong way.

I went to Tivoli bar reluctantly after almost 6 months break just to get robbed 5 euros to get in and eat free buns. The band was OK, but I don't know if I have any good pictures of them playing. This picture is just few seconds before the Danes (?) started playing.

Medium format 35mm 09 Nov 2007 Posted by Jussi.

I put some 35mm negative to my Kiev-60 medium format camera. It was a disaster to handle, focus and carry but some pictures turned out OK, but some later frames on the roll had overlapped horribly. I'll have to print out couple of those pictures later to see if there is any sense to this project. A poor man's xpan, hah.
Our school darkroom didn't have glass negative holders so that's why the edges look blurry, well this is a pretty bad print anyway. However it got me excited about darkroom again, gotta go back soon!

I had to step out of my realm of self enlightment for a visit to Matti's house warming party. I brought Matti a half pack of Mynthons as a gift. Fortunately I wasn't left with nothing in return because I got this picture of Anniina going through Matti's viewmaster discs.
I think I must have my own housewarming party soon, it's about time after over three years of living in this apartment. Plus I need a pack of Mynthons.

During the writing of this post (3.11.) there still isn't snow on the ground. Being the lazy bastard that I am, I write some of the bloggings in advance so this might not be the case with the snow on tuesday when this article comes out. Well anyway in this picture we have a sure sign of winter, a pussy drawn on some frost. Thumbs up for the anus under the vagina, or am I just imagining this?

Price is 550€ including postage, also delivery to everywhere in Rovaniemi and with a little delay to Kemi. This is for finns only.

Once again the infamous LEINONEN/NOKELA team pulled it off. I just received the newest Slammer mag and our picture for the Slammer session photocontest had won the amateur series. I'm sad to say the competition wasn't tight, but a victory is a victory! Well what does Nokela get, you might ask.. We have made a deal that I'm buying him a pizza, a 12-pack of beer and a bottle of booze later. Plus the media visibility is amazing, think about the ladies this guy is scoring with this kind of shit huh?!
Also if you work for any snowboarding brand, please send this guy some gear, two times he has popped in the Slammer magazine, that's two times more than most sponsored snowboarders in Finland, and he is getting shit. Last night I went to Kauppayhtiö bar to see Mikko Mallikas (above) DJ, however the highlight of the night was when I went to take a leak. I opened the door to the mensroom (one toiletseat, nothing else) presuming that if a person is there, it should be locked. The door popped open and before my eyes was this girl  (not the girl below) taking a piss. She was using a technique where you don't let your asscheeks touch the seat. Shit was bananas. I'm glad she wasn't doing the number two. I'll never again try if the door is locked or not, and if it actually was locked, I think the staff need to get better locks.

I'm pissed because I haven't gotten a really good picture with my new digital camera yet. It's not the camera, it's me. This picture of Henna is propably the best so far, and it isn't that good.
I came up with a idea for a portrait series of about 5 images last night, and I'll have to ask Henna for one of those photos later. Yes.

I had munchies for this cheeseburger on the floor, it looks good, right? Assholes throwing away yummy yummies.
Oh boy seems like this was a three picture day in the blog, weird. I didn't think the two pictures were good enough to deserve their own days in the spotlight.

Yeah it's here. I shot some pictures in the concert we went to, even if it was against the rules. REBEL! This is how I feel about this digital piece of I-don't-know-what-the-fuck-this-black-block-is-made-of:

Cool about the Canon G5 after the first day:
  • Nice size, not too small, not too bulky.
  • Feels OK, good grip and thank god for the scrolling wheel.
  • It's black, black rules (whatever you do).
  • Very nice LCD information on top of the camera (doesn't light up though).
  • Does RAW, fuck a JPG.
  • Let's me shoot in black & white, but still gets all the colors in RAW. Nice for stupid guys like myself who like to see the form of the shot instead of messed up white balance.
  • Fast f/2.0 lens kicks ass.
  • Histogram available in play-mode.
  • Eats the battery Nokela gave me for some reason (I'm not paying bro).
  • I like the 'grain' in ISO 200 (black and white).
  • Seems to have timelapse, which is cool.
Not so cool about the Canon G5 after the first day:
  • Only goes 35mm equivelant, I'd prefer 28mm.
  • Goes only to ISO 400, and looks like shit doing it if shooting color.
  • Worst viewfinder I've ever used, covers about 75% of the frame and is blocked by the lens. What the hell were they thinking with a semipro model? I hope my russian rangefinder 35mm finder arrives soon and really works. 30 euros for a piece of Ukrainian nuclear waste infected plastic is a bit hairy for me. Better work.
  • No filter threads, incomprehendable bullshit with the shittiest lens cover ever.
  • Does only 4:3, not 3:2 which I prefer. But it's ok.
  • LCD review of pictures doesn't really let you zoom in the picture because it uses some low resolution thumbnail scam that looks blurry like a drunken night in Slovenia.
  • Flower asshole modes, nobody uses these idiot modes. Atleast not in a semipro model like this one.
Oh shit that was the techiest stuff ever written in this blog, I apologize. The camera has flaws, but they're not that important and you literally can't get some of them fixed at this point (with my money) so I'm happy with it. And with time I'll learn to use it and some of the negatives will propably disapper.
