Maybe it's now time to inform you visitors about coming updates in Strap world. All new version of Strap website will be launced hopefully in two weeks if Jussi can continue coding in Kokkola where he is going for summer job. I have two new stories to be published (both of them long term projects) and it seems that our quest for finding new Strap members are giving some nice results. So lot of things going on, but you need to wait for the new Strap to be opened... Stay tuned.

Until then...i will spam with my old pictures. I don't want to give you too early those leftovers from upcoming stories...

Strap is currently open for foreign portfolios. 05 May 2008 Posted by Jussi Leinonen.

We're happy to inform everyone that we are currently looking for new Strap photos members.

We are aiming for foreign photographers who do documentary/photoessay work, so no finnish applications.
We would love to have someone from any part of the world join us as a member. Scandinavia, Americas, China, Japan, Europe as a whole. Anything goes.

Of course your work will still be your work, but you will be a part of Strap and present your stories here like we do. Doing your part in being a member. Which means telling people about our work, contributing to whatever we do, being a friend, developing our work as a collective, etc.

We will simply say NO if we say NO. It doesn't mean your work isn't good, or even great. It's just not for us. We will let you know if you decide to apply. If you have doubts about the quality of your portfolio, do not send it. Work more and send it later when you feel like you rule the shit out of everybody.

It's also ok to just let us know about your interest for future memberships and possible partnership in some way. I'ts always good to exchange links and information between strangers.

What Strap wants from you:

top quality photographs and stories
top quality photographs and stories (seriously)
activity and enthusiasm in the realm of photography
no bullshit

What Strap photos offers:

a small, creative community

Greetings from warm and sunny Finland! Today we have a special treat for you visitors: a new story by the Strap team. We both documented the traditional finnish celebration called "vappu" (a.k.a. 1st of May and labor day) in our current hometowns Rovaniemi and Lahti.

The goal was to produce and publish a small story with fast schedule and with the power of teamwork by doing our own work separately and mixing the images into a one story. We hope you enjoy the results and maybe give a comment or two!

Further developments in the realm of strap photos dynasty. 25 Apr 2008 Posted by Jussi Leinonen.

Yes indeed we're on the brink of summer even here in Rovaniemi, Lapland. Sun is shining and dog shit is starting to melt. Despite the utter reek of shit, Strap dudes are aiming high for the summer, since both of us got ACTUAL photographer jobs at a newspaper during the summer. Looks like working hard on your own pays off, even for young Leinonen who has been infamously unemployed despite his amazing skills and high level of social lovability.

Anyway I got an idea to build up a whole new blog under the Strap dynasty domain entitled WORK. It will be outside of the regular Strap-photos.com website (which by the way is going to get revamped during the summer if I have time). The blog will have our work presented with stories how everything went with the picture, difficulties and shortcomings. You know, very interesting stuff for a photography fan like yourself. This will be started before the end of next month. Stay waxed!
