Story deserving of a honorary mention, or an award in the domestic reportage category will hit strap-photos.com next week. It can be seen on 4 spreads wide in Seura magazine, NOW.
Get the book for this year's "lehtikuvat", it was great with a lot of strong images.
Henrik Malmstrom's work was amazing. I hope to talk to him again. And yes he should be a member of our team.
Why does Canon award press photogs with toy-class gear.. Is the "name-carved-in-digital-ixus" a joke. It sure was funny.

Jussi Leinonen superextravaganza 2008!!!! 21 Feb 2009 Posted by Petri Uutela.

Today was announced the 2008 winners of Finnish Press Photography competition and our own Jussi Leinonen had a real jackpot! Not only did he win "the title", the press photographer of the year, but he also won the portrait photo of the year and got a honorary mention in the domestic reportage of the year. This is just superbly fantastic result and I am so god damn proud of you, that all I can say is "5p!!!!". Here Jussi keeps his poker face while trying to dodge anyone taking picture of him. Jussi's male model career needs some fine tuning before breaking into that industry. Man he is stiff! :D

I allready congratulated Henrik MalmstrÃ¶m for taking again the title for best domestic reportage, but I have to do it again here. I thought the work was excellent. Henrik's work was really different when comparing to other winners -- visually and because of the subject. I digged a lot! Well deserved win. And of course, congratulations to all other winners too! Only thing that I miss was live TV cameras and Jussi doing a speech....that would have been great thing to see, haha.

Mormon missionaries story published in Seura. 19 Feb 2009 Posted by Petri Uutela.

Today got published in Seura magazine my reportage of mormon missionaries in Finland. This subject is what I have been working on since last autumn and will continue to work with. This is also what I was working with during Christmas in Czech Republic. The text is made by Jussi Koivisto. Here is just a sneak peek...the story is 8 pages total. Little bit grainy 35mm film pictures in B&W...in magazine in 2009... Someone said it can't be done! Oh, yes it can :)

A guy broke some beer bottles, rolled in them, and washed himself with salted water and walked away. After the act, the staff cleaned the stage for the next artist.
