The news was here that state will give more money to refugee center in Kemi. I had a really busy day at work and this was a surprise gig late in the evening just before I finished the day. They wanted me to take picture of refugee center in Kemi and preferred a picture without people (well, without their faces). The gig lasted about 5 minutes, but I think this was the best gig this summer. The man who I met there was a refugee from Ghana named Abbas. Somehow that small talk with him left me feel really positive about the whole gig. Instead of shooting some "who cares¿" -type of events for whole day, it was really nice to just talk with him and to hear about his situation.

Little interesting tech info about wedding shoots: Out of the 139 pictures I gave out to the client, 35 were shot @ iso 4000/5000, 27 @ 1600 and 18 @ 800. Flash went off zero times.

So according to the exif info I shot about 100 of the 139 pics at over ISO800.

It's great to shoot like this, technology is amazing. So when people ask me does the camera matter.. To get a good picture, no, you can do it in so many ways. But to work with ambient light, in the flow of things happening, it does. Great equipment, at best, free you of the boundaries of technology, and all you have to do is just shoot.

Modern digital equipment gives you the chance to translate light in to images, and not to bitch about how bad the light is.
